The Overwhelming Chasm

After the storm silence descends
Its echo screaming and vividness blinding
I wish there were more words
They seem all swept away
Is it all said and done
Dusted and now mum; lips unmoving
The unsaid weighs down like kilo-tons
Release this bird we've chained
Let escape the flutters
Stop this chasm widening
Sinking us to oblivion
emotions overwhelm
to that point
we involuntarily break
like the outpouring tears
like the quickened heartbeat
and the sigh let out
to restore equilibrium
and allow us move on.
