Tribe

First comes the family
And then the tribe I would think
One belongs to a tribe
Not of his own doing or say
Providence has it
That it should be so.
You and I
Him and Her
Come from a Tribe
That is for sure.
The sense of belonging thus derived
Is a console not to be deprived
But unfortunately it is now a tool for instigation
Used with the sacred religious institution
Hand in hand, together in this our nation.
In the name of tribe and religion, blood flows
Consequently, lives are lost; wasted en masse
Lives that are trusts to various tribes
Thus a hopeless cycle we host today
Of killings repeated every other day
Is not the division
Into tribes and communities
A blessing from God?
That we may recognize, respect and have order.
Contrarily, evil has made man turn it into a border
Entrenching divide and subjugation one by the other
Selfishness and greed conquering many
Since they succumb to whatever means
The End allowing the employ of any Means
Thus daily increasing the death toll
My brethren beware of such ploys
To avoid being used as decoys
To some we are mere toys
They see it like a game of girls and boys
With a laugh and smile, the wicked deploys
