Poetry For Nurture

Poets are born, yet there's also nurture.
The age old unending tussle 
That pits genes against nature
Remains a befitting puzzle
To tease minds ‘mature’
Would we have Beethoven
Without a Haydn
Would we enjoy Five Alive
Without Messrs Chivita

Smiles…

Would we have Poets without the setting
Like a beautiful picture of a garden with no plants
Or a sumptuously laid out dish with no drink
Ah! But which is which?
Do genes make the man,
Or circumstances dictate the plan?
Yet someone said
Genes are part of the plan.

So many thoughts scattered  In the ocean  That is my head I do fear for this wayfarer. And here I was thinking  I was normal  Uuntil I met you. Smashed to pieces  My fears  Like angry bull  In a China-shop I'm now bathed in silkiness  Serenity  Confidence my new skin I wear  Like crocodile  Or his cousin once removed,  The snake. A Midnight Encounter

You see when it starts to rain, the soul that luvs the rain lights up with an electric fervor! . I close my eyes and listen to the musical lyrics of raindrops drumming upon the rooftop, which pours down the drains. . I sit against the windows and watch countless slates slash against the pane and flashes of lightening streak across the reddened midnight sky. And then... . POW! CRACKOW! A blasting blare of thunder makes me shudder, almost jumping out of fright. . And then gradually the rumbling rolls away like a cartwheel leaving me with the sound of dripping raindrops like a collection of pattering feet tapdancing. .
