Memories Almost Lost

I'm staring at a blank screen,
Trying to pen words that slip and flip
Refusing my desperate grasp
My mind is filled with thoughts
As vivid as this white screen
I thought it would gush
Like a dam burst free
Yet even trickles
Seem not forthcoming
I'm left with a consolation
Of an oasis mirage
Then gradually a smile reveals
Hidden memories
Straining to break free
I remember the first time we met
An insignificance
With fate strangely absent
And Destiny engaged elsewhere
Their cunning and trickery
Left me awed
How they sent Cupid to appear
Like a bullet piercing
With the accuracy of a bullseye!
The trap sprung, it catches
Caging us in labyrinthine prison
What was to be pleasant escape
Ended as a puzzling maze
Of expectations
Leading nowhere
Each passing day ticking by
Sees the rope of hope
Twisting, knotted
As I sit trying
To find words
To cut through
To get to you
I feel your tug
And overjoyed I am!
So now same memories
Will lead me back
Hold on
We'll soon be home
Where our minds will serenely lie
And our hearts will reside
Together.

A Midnight Encounter

You see when it starts to rain, the soul that luvs the rain lights up with an electric fervor! . I close my eyes and listen to the musical lyrics of raindrops drumming upon the rooftop, which pours down the drains. . I sit against the windows and watch countless slates slash against the pane and flashes of lightening streak across the reddened midnight sky. And then... . POW! CRACKOW! A blasting blare of thunder makes me shudder, almost jumping out of fright. . And then gradually the rumbling rolls away like a cartwheel leaving me with the sound of dripping raindrops like a collection of pattering feet tapdancing. .
