'Youth' just like the name implies, are budding, upcoming plants who are trying to find their feet and they need the nurturing and tending of the more mature and experienced to enable them grow and develop themselves - and in the process their community/society.

Thus, I feel the key thing that 'Youth' are in dire need of today is 'Mentoring'. Just like the case of the Blind who need a 'Sighted Guide' (or any other means as a guide), so also Youth need the guidance of Elders. Elders thus need to persevere and be patient guides to the Youth. Good or bad, through thick and thin, they must stand by them because the mentee's success, is the mentor's success and as they say: 'nothing worthwhile is ever easy'! Also, 'you do not cut your nose to spite your face'!

Regardless of the many issues that Youth have, they are continuously making efforts within the circumstances they find themselves and it remains the responsiblity of the Elders to continue the work of Mentoring to mould them and guide them to fulfill their potential as Leaders of Tomorrow!
